Reiki Explained
Reiki is a Japanese word (pronounced "ray-key") meaning universal life force. There are several
different forms such as Usui, Seichim, Celtic and others.
Reiki is a natural healing art that enhances the balance of your body, usually by the laying on
of hands in specific non-invasive positions allowing the reconnection of personal energy and the
inner self.
The goal is to balance physical, spiritual, emotional and mental energies to produce an overall
sense of relaxation with improved concentration; and over time a balancing of the body’s energies
through inner growth and self-awareness.
Each form of Reiki has its own methods and tools used to channel the universal energy and each
form of Reiki has its own benefits.
It is thought that the knowledge of Seichim was obtained from Egypt by a Buddhist monk and taken
back to the East where it spread to India and Japan, and became the art that we know today as Reiki.
There are opportunities to learn more of the art and history of Reiki on our special Egypt tour with
Nile cruise, and we are able to arrange individual or group visits to practitioners.
